SNES Boxes incorrect size or me doing it wrong?

Hey all,

Just did my first SNES box for Super Mario World and something is wrong. I guess it's one out of two things, if there's anything else please let me know!

1. Could the design be wrong so that I bend the paper in the wrong location? I'm using the box design that I've downloaded from here for Super Mario World SNES.

2. Or could it be that the bend instructions are different for SNES than it is for N64 and NES? For N64 and NES you just bend according to the cuts, nothing special there.

Because when I did this SNES box today it got too thick, just like a N64 box almost. This resulted in the inability to bend the opening flaps correctly, they become too short.


I don't have any original SNES boxes at home and I don't know anyone who has either, but from when I was young I remember the SNES boxes to be a bit larger than NES boxes, is that correct?

The reason I think either the design is wrong or where you should fold the box is because I printed an insert for SNES boxes and that is the perfect size for a SNES cart. Comparing that insert with the SNES box, the SNES box is both thicker and it is much much wider. Perhaps the insert is wrong, or the box design.. No idea..

I'm printing on my A3 printer and I haven't had any troubles with either N64 or NES boxes before. So I'm clueless..

Well it's no idea to take a picture.. when it's easier to confess that I used the wrong insert woops.. again.. haha..
Once again I used the Japanese version instead of the European version of inserts.. why..? Well they feel better somehow..

Anyhow.. the open flaps should be folded a bit further out, compared to NES and N64.. that's all I can see for errors now.. It's been a long and sleepy day today.. but I finally figured it out and it should be perfect when I make a new box tomorrow

J'ai remarqué le même problème concernant les languettes d'ouverture côté gauche d'un boite SNES.
Sur toutes les boites originales que j'ai, la languette est un peu coupée sur chaque bord d'environ 1 cm, ce qui permet, une fois fermée, d'être bloquée avec les deux autres petites languettes. Avec nos boites, il faut forcer un peu pour que ça ferme, et ça se voit un peu.

Mmmmmh, je ne l'ai fait que sur une boite et même si c'est un peu relou à faire, j'avoue que le résultat final s'en ressent par contre je ne peux pas vous mettre de photo car il s'agit d'un projet à plusieurs et je ne suis pas certain que l'ensemble des participants ont envie de voir des photos de ce projet traîner ici.
