Have both QR Codes and classic Npes bar code boxes

Message par konio38 » 10 Avril 2013, 10:34

Hi there i love Npes website and its amazing that the migration is going so well to a more modern and organized website. But the only thing that is going in the wrong direction is the QRcodes replacing the classic code bars, Personaly the "unofficial game copy" present in the old Npes boxes is a good way to people not to abuse the box scan scene, trying to sell boxed copies of games, i would never do that i use the website to make my collection peatier, and the QR Code is very out of place, if you could have both QR and non QR version of the scans that would be great.

Thank you so much and please keep up with the good work.

Hi konio38, and thank you for your kind words.
Yes, you can't imagine how many short sleep nights I have to spend handling this website and project.

QR Codes are now included in all boxes for legitimate reasons.
First, QR Code is mainly used to promote the website. Imagine you come to visit one of your friends and he's showing to you new cool boxes he just made for his own collection. You look at the back and then you notice the QR Code. In less time needed to think, you take your smartphone to immediately keep track on the website.
As you mentionned, QR Code is best seen on small pictures (when buying on eBay for instance). Old generic code was confusing some times.
And then, QR Codes are at the exact same position than the old generic one.
I provide the images as is, you are free to easily modify them before printing your boxes.
But if you respect my work and the free use of this website, I would expect you not doing so ;)
