Recommend me some nice quality paper/card to print on.

Hi,

I need some advice as to what kind of paper/card stock would be ideal for printing boxes on. I use a HP business inkjet 2800 printer. So far I have been printing on standard heavy A3 card stock (grey), which produce nice results. However the ink tends to smudge. I guess I could treat it afterwards with a color protection spray to make sure the print is smudge and scratch resistant.

I guess what I'm asking is if there's a better way of doing this? However, I need the boxes to be sturdy and have the weight and feel of an original. Can photo paper achieve this?

What is that film coating that's used? I might wanna look into that. But I think I'm gonna try with an inkjet protection spray directly to the finished and dried print and see how that works out. But nice guide nonetheless, thanks.

Hi,
I guess the film coating we're talking about is just a transparent sticker to protect books cover.
Just simple as that.
You will find it at the stationery side of your regular store.
But be careful, some of these films are not perfectly smooth, and it will be impossible to apply uniformly. So not so easy to find.
Also, this technique is a little bit tricky, and take some time and efforts to achieve, so you will have to go slowly.
But if you succed, the result is rigid and protected enough.
