Hello,

I do not understand french, thats why i open this topic with this question:
What kind of paper/carton i have to use to print a 1:1 copy of a NES box? Some of my boxes are damaged and i want them newly printed. 8-)

And what size i have to print the A3 formats?

In general case at home, you can print the two faces of your NES box on two A4 Photo paper, and stick them together.
But if you have an A3 printer, try this kind of paper : (Inkjet Super Premium Satin Photo Paper 280g)

Hi,
By the way, you can also choose to print your boxes to a professional printer.
I'm not very confident with this translation, so I mean a professionnal person, with a professional hardware ;)
Some members here use to print box in A3 for about 2 or 3 Euros each box, wich is very interesting regarding the resulting quality.
You may download files directly from the website and use them "as is".

Well, all the files here are already at the correct print size.
Using any image software such as Photoshop, Gimp or Photofiltre, they will be printed in a"real" size.
If you're using Windows images preview utility, it won't know how to output that

Hello, I'm also not good with the french and I just found this website today. Great content for my NES/SNES needs!
I have a bunch of games with no box and it would look better on my shelf if I could print some boxes for them, also good to protect the games.

so I found this photo printer which prints A3 format, it's called "Epson Stylus Photo 1500W" and was wondering if anyone knows if it's a good entry level printer to buy for this sort of stuff. If not what would you recommend.

The paper on that amazon link, are they thick enough so you can fold up a nice little box out of? I don't want them to be thin like regular paper you write on. Can I also use these papers for the inner tray?

Most of the prints on the site are 300 dpi only, it sounds a bit low. What kind of quality would I get when I print? Can I see some samples of "finished product" of yours? :)

Thank you for any help.

Hello,
I don't personally know the printer you're talking about, but regarding it's price, it seems to be very fine.
Just to compare, my printer is a very low price Epson, and I'm very happy with it.

You will find in the following sub-forum what members have realized :
https://www.nintandbox.net/index.php/en/forum-index/viewforum.php/f,7/

You'll be able to see what can be the results, and make a first opinion.
Check out the most beautiful boxes made by Exocil, and you'll want do make boxes immediately :D
300dpi is not enough, hahaha !

Regarding the paper, you have to user the thickier as possible.
Here in France it's 300g/m², which I guess is 10.58o/1550inch² (do the maths ).
If you don't want to buy an exensive printer, you can bring you files to a professionnal, the result will be more faithful.

Thanks for the reply. Now I have no doubt that 300 dpi is not enough, those photos look amazingly sharp, can't tell a difference from original box. Can't wait to get started. :D

Also I live in Scandinavia so we use g/m² here as well. Will try to get hold of some 300 g/m² papers to print on.

This sentence sounds conflicting, doesn't it ?

By the way, I bet you'll enjoy the results, trust me ;)
