Just did this retouch. Original with retouch below. Note: I did not use any contrast filters like the rules say not to do. Instead, I set the whitepoint and blackpoint, which preserve the colors.

Retouch has been uploaded too.

Hello, and thank you for your contributions, it is great to see new files. About use filters I think that you can use it if it do not change original colors and there are not a excess saturation o darkers zones that dissapear. I use it for contrast of the blacks for example, and I do not see any problem.

Anyway you can send files with filters and without if you want, this way webmaster can choose wich one looks better.

Regards.

Hello,

As far as filters go, I am very careful to ensure that colors are accurate. I always emphasize top quality and accuracy. This is the process that I use:

  • Perspective correction. Perspective-crop the scan to ensure that all the angles are right.
  • Fourier transform algorithm for de-screening. This retains all of the details while completely getting rid of the halftone and moire patterns
  • Curves filter for blackpoint and whitepoint correction. This makes the whites bright and the blacks deep, and everything in between is adjusted to fit the new curve. The whitepoint also fixes any issues with any potential colored tint that's affecting the entire image.
  • Surface blur - makes all the gradient smooth and gets rid of the graininess while still retaining all the details.
  • Manual spot blur - Manually smoothing out all necessary areas while leaving the details untouched.
  • Replacement of various elements with clipart such as logos, etc.
  • Fonts will be recognized with whatthefont and text retyped.
