SNES Super Mario World - English

SNES Super Mario World - English

Hey all,
Just wanted to present my latest box which I believe came out quite ok. Using 300gsm white paper, applying protective film ontop to give a glossy finish. It's a bit too glossy, but for now I think it looks quite ok.

Image

Image
I added a thin line for where I wanted to cut a support for bending the flap correctly, as it was incorrect to bend the flap where the sideflaps are. A small addon to the base design should perhaps be made? ;)

Image
Glossy finish, too much compared to originals.. but it's ok for me. The box is protected :)

My tools!

Image
I use the ruler to line up the score, the I drag a non-sharp screwdriver to make the score.

Image
Bends perfectly!

Image
A little damage when I cut out the support for the open flaps. But can't really be seen if you don't look closely.

Image
Looks good I must say :)

Image
Running a white inside on this box, normally I print out a gray image on the other side of the paper. As can be seen on next photo for Maniac Mansion. Although the color is not completely correct but I couldn't get it to show like in real life.

Image
The insert is a little bit too small both in width and height.. But overall very nice!

Finally, a shot with the actual cart inside it's new home.

I used the french version found on this site, but I've changed all the text to match that of an European/English box instead. Because even tho I understand some French, it's unfortunately not my main language which is Swedish ;) But it's also fun that on the bottom of most boxes to SNES and N64 and some NES, there is actually Swedish text.

If you've seen "Från 8 år" and "Spara förpackningen", that's Swedish :D

Anyhow, let me know what you think! :)
Remember! I don't create my boxes to sell or try to show them off as originals. But I do want to have boxes that look like the original, to show friends and family what it did look like when it came out "back then".

Nice photos showing up your work. Great Job ! ;)

I do exactly the same technique for my boxes, white paper with a protective film, a liner tool for a correct bending, and a little cut in the left handside open flap.
