Can you check if my GB Label scan is ok so I can scan more?

Can you check if my GB Label scan is ok so I can scan more?

Hello. I have uploaded a scan here
https://www.nintandbox.net/index.php/en/ ... nload/7342

Can a moderator tell me if it looks accceptable? If it does look ok, I have many more Game Boy cartridge labels I would like to scan:

http://www.retrocollect.com/videogameda ... &rows=3000

(If the game was released in the UK, then I will have the -UKV label. If it was not released in the UK, then I will have the -EUR or -NOE label variant). Obviously I would only upload a label that doesn't currently exist in your collection :)

Your scan is in 600dpi, and the label is in good condition, it's ok.
However there is too much jpg compression, the image is not sharp.
Try to save without compression (or jpg quality at 100%). You can put more GB labels in a single A4 scan.

Thanks a lot ;)

Oh, that's very disappointing  I used the printer/scanner at my work (a Cannon C5235) and I used the best setting possible :| The only other options available to me are .TIFF (in black & white only) or .PDF at 600dpi :(

I presume that if I scanned labels as PDFs there is no way to extract the image from it?

try to save your scan as a pdf, but i think it will be the same problem. which tool do you use for your scan ?
My printer have a poor quality scanner, but with rawscan the quality is better because no automatic compression.
Please send your pdf file, i will check it ;)

It is an office printer so I can only select an option that is on the display panel

I shall try to scan it as a PDF :)

I started to look the user manual of your office printer. Try to look at the advanced settings of the Save menu :

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index? ... =ART137519

("Settings... - Select to display the Data Format Settings dialog box. Set image quality, PDF keyword search and compression, and the Auto Scan file format.")

Unfortunately I don't have those settings, so I decided to borrow a friend's HP Printer/Scanner and spend an hour doing these:

I used Paint.NET to save the images as a JPEG file with 0 compression :)

If these are acceptable, do I need to upload them individually to the Drop Zone, or could I upload them as one .zip file?

Hello,

Just checked Allayway and BC Kid, and I'm sorry to say that this labels are still too compressed.
Also, if you can select the scan area, to avoid have the whole page, therefore files would be lighter.
And yes, you can merge many files in one zip, before the upload.

But for the moment, your scans can't be accepted I'm sorry
